Good day!

So this morning I was a little challenged with my email so until I can get that straight let me tell you here about our PJ party beginning tomorrow @7 am and ending @ 10 am . Yes it appears that we have waited until the coldest day of the year to do this but it will be worth it.
Here is what will be on sale:

Fabrics 25% off
Kits 10% off
Select books 20% off
Gifts 20% off

We are also going to auction off a quilt - the Christmas tree quilt that has been so
popular - we have sold out of kits and fabric so all that is left is the quilt!!! So if you missed out perhaps this quilt needs to go home with you!

Happy Thanksgiving!

As busy as you all may be today - stop for a few minutes to give thanks! All those things and people that we are so thankful for. I know my plate is overflowing - it has been a busy and full year for me and for my family. All of you who are a part of our quilting family I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and encouragement throughout this year. Have a wonderful day and long weekend. Travel safe if you are on the road or in the air! See you soon.

Last night..

If you were at the trunk show for Dawn Heese a couple of weeks ago you will remember she said she did not do a lo of prep work for her appliqué - well I tried it...

Maybe a little pointy on the left hand side but I did this in about 10 minutes from cutting to pressing it... No glue - just freezer paper and a needle and thread!

We did get her books back in if you want to take a look .

Just as the snowflakes begin to fall

We put our new snowflake quilt up.. The snowflakes are all precut and set to be fused straight down onto the body of the quilt. How simple can this be????

Take a look next time you are in the store.

Our wooly bits club met on Monday

And their first projects are taking shape....

and then this months project...

Just got to love the staple method..

Some of the fabulous work completed by our customers!

Rita was going to stop at the Lori Smith size which is abt 18x 24 but those blocks kept multiplying and here is her finished quilt.. The colors are terrific!

Another of our customers - a fairly new quilter Jahae made this flower garden quilt which is BEAUTIFUL... Lovely mix of blues and taupes... She is now making her Dear Jane... Look for those pictures shortly!!!

The Omaha Quilt Guild

Had their meeting this past Tuesday and the guest speaker was Dawn Heese. She was fabulous... A little wool on cotton (you know how we like that)... She also introduced her use of hand washed hand dyed cotton velvet in her quilts!! Wowee... and we carry the cotton velvet in the store!!! If you missed her books and patterns we will plan to have some for you to take a look at!!

A little bit of fabric arrived this week ... The full line of Amelia from Jo Morton - and some fun fabric as below...

Busy week....

Last weekend saw me at a Pam Clarke Class at the sewing and quilt expo in Lincoln.. A small show but a great time. Class was great and the vendors at the show were terrific. Thank you to you all!

A quick view of some of our new things

A little goodie box for Halloween candy... With a vintage feel.

We have some treenware that is the next best thing to the real thing- I have had a hard time putting them in the shop as opposed to my house!!

Although a little later than anticipated I want to show you some of our counted cross stitch ... Another fun thing to do

Hand dyed velvet pumpkins - fun to make and soft to touch

No lights on this Stonehenge model but they are available.. It is hanging in the window as you are looking through the window at the tree.

and more....

You saw the big quilt and now here is the mini - one makes both but if the small one is all you want then that is kitted too!

A lovely easy quilt made from the latest French General line - it also has a baby version !
A fun holiday color inspired table runner- a weekend project!

And more

A little vintage Halloween hand dyed velvet pillow with the use of painted treasure fabric !

A local designer and some lovely fabric what more could we want!

That quiltmania magazine - the tree of life  - two tone red and white. Has a wonderful
old feel to it although I can vouch for the fact that it came off the long arm about 3 weeks ago!!

A little trip around the store

This quilt is made in  the snowmen fabric from Moda -Lisa Bongean is the designer. The pattern is from a favorite designer Vickie from Wisconsin

Mid winter reds ....

We are dreaming up a wonderful pattern for this fabric!!!

Dear Jane redux

Also we are starting up another Dear Jane session - if you might be interested let us know Dorothy is hosting an interest session in September - the exact date is on the website. Then if there is enough interest then we will start again ..

For those who are interested in finishing there are some scheduled Sunday sew days just for Dear Janers!!

Take a look at some other accomplishments;
Susan is going to use this beautiful appliqué for her center block-

Carol
Is getting close .... So much beautiful work .. Congrats to all!

This past week saw the culmination of

Our first Dear Jane club . Dorothy Muse who has encouraged us cajoled us and sometime threatened us (not really) finished her Dear Jane- Jo finished hers and Leah but the rest of us combined also  finished 4 Dear Jane - too bad it was the combination of blocks and never to be sewn together. However many are close to finishing!!
Thank you Dorothy!!

Where have I been - one might think

I have been sitting around doing nothing but eating bonbons!!!! But if the truth be known we have been busy planning and thinking about all those things that we need to do to get ready for the holidays!
If you have not seen these in real life look what arrived a week or so ago
Our outside signs!!! By night and by day

We hope they help as you find us in our new location!

Monday, August 5, 2013

I thought that this post would have a

Very large picture of our new signs but that is not to be! I got the call on Friday minutes before the truck was to arrive .... .. that Tuesday of this week is now the chosen day as the truck had broken down .. ... I was disappointed how could that be?? No truck no sign! But maybe tomorrow..

Anyway in spite of all that we had a great time in Seward- good to see so many of you ...  All enjoying the classes and friendship. I very much enjoyed meeting other store owners from the western part of the state.

Here are a couple of pics of our booth

I know this last one is a little different for us... a new batik modern quilt. Although different for us we love it!!!!

So when we returned we changed around the store for our first feel of Fall !! We have a couple of models still in the making!
This is a kit made from primitive  quilts and projects - great fall colors! We only have a couple of kits left - with the pattern included it retails for $59.99.
This is our new homespun kit - the colors are so perfect and the fabric makes it soft  and cuddly - it retails for $69.99 and the pattern is included.

To go with this quilt we found some great baskets that can be hung easily with the pack of hanging hooks - and then filled with greenery or fall decorations - at $32 these are good value I believe.

After the Crow girls left in May - I began the Autumnal Pinwheel table runner - and finally it is finished..... Take a look and see what you think...

It is on the front table as you come into the shop - this kit has all the wool, fabric and pattern and retails for $69.00.

Some of you may have seen the fabulous s'mores quilt that was made for us...
Here it is in our booth at the Omaha Guild Show- the carpet in the conference center adds quite a back drop!!
We have re-kitted this - we were waiting on the sashing fabric to come in - if you have the magazine we can remove it from the kit! It sells for $65
Last but not least a table topper with cute pumpkins ready for your Halloween celebrations ..pattern is included and it retails for $50!
If you get a chance pop in to see these models in their true colors!
Maybe tomorrow I can post pics of my signs.....

Best wishes
Lyn
