And a little more...

Straw blue and chocolate from Judie Rothermel!

And more...

Indigo Crossing from Moda

New fabric lines arrived this week!

Molly B's style series! Beautiful blues and greens!

New projects for this week

This little quilt finishes at 12x 18 inches - is made up of the wonderful 9 patch block. I made this one evening, when I needed to take a break from - dare I say it Dear Jane blocks!! The small squares finish at 3/4 of an inch - easy to quilt yourself and use it as a doll quilt or for decorating your home!

New projects

I thought that this little pin cushion kit needed to be made up and so although a little intimidated by the kit I took it home and made it up in 2 hours - I tell you this not because I want to impress you with my productivity - heavens I would need to work a lot harder at that!!!!! - but just to say easy peasey! Everything is included in the kit even the roving to stuff it with! Also there are those lovely little pins from " it's just another button company" all included!! It retails for $42:00 - everything included. We also have an acorn kit from the same company!!

February 28th

Last week our Dear Janer's had their monthly meeting and this month I actually remembered my camera !! So take a look at some of their blocks! We have been meeting for 18 months which means we should have about 200 blocks complete. There are some over achievers who are at about that point but some of us are starting on the 10 year voyage!!! But going to enjoy every minute .....

Our small quilt group achievements!

I think we really should name this club - small quilt group is not very inspiring or creative is it?? Any ideas let me know - but just because the title is not creative that does not mean our members lack creativity- look at these lovely interpretations of Loris Smith's patterns

The next Block Of The Month: Celebrating Abe

This quilt is from Jody Barrows and the Square in a Square technique. We are offering this in several different ways. First the kit and pattern can be purchased as a kit. We are also holding it has a 3 month block of the month associated with a class each month so if you are not familiar with the rulers and square in a square technique then you can learn from our instructor. If you cannot make it to class but still want to do this project over 3 months we can do that too. It begins in March with the first class on being held on March 5th. Please call the store for more details and to sign up if you are interested.

Inspite of the rather unpredictable weather

We have been having our regular club meetings and some show and tell when our customers come is and share! We love that so here is a gorgeous quilt and as it is a gift for someone I think Inhad better not include the quilter's name.. I would hate to spoil a surprise on my BLOG of all places.. So take a look and just know that one of our customers shared this with us!

Enough of the travel agent and back to the important stuff

Not so many quilt shops in England or not where my parents live anyway - but a very new stitchery and yarn shop opened in the town called Hoop ! www.hoopandloop.co.uk is her website and she has all kinds of twitter and Facebook pages (hoopandloop) Vanessa is the owner and is a lovely lady. We were hoping to meet her in Paris at the market there next week but I need to postpone to next year as there is too much going on here next month!!

Oh and here are just a couple of pictures that seem to be quintessentially ( is that really a word) British

So a picture of a local farm shop, the local church and then this post box snuggled into an old Roman Wall in the middle of nowhere but where 2 roads meet.. These roads are maybe one road width only - and that is if all the grass is cut back!!

I think I have been AWOL on my blog!

Really January 6th was the last time I posted anything - that is just hard to believe but in any event I have some catching up to do.

So many of you might remember that in January I went to England to celebrate my father's 80th birthday. We had a lovely time - ate a lot of cake and even saw the snow there!

I also wanted to show you a town hall in Tenterden, where my parents live, and where my grandparents were married perhaps about 80 years ago!
